Mineral, VA earthquake
I just figured out the meaning behind the Mineral, VA earthquake. Take out the al and the comma and push the leftover letters together and you get Minerva, as in the Roman counterpart to the Greek Athena. Both of these false deities received child sacrifice, and are variations of the false god Moloch, who also received child sacrifice. All three are related to the sun and are thus considered sun gods. In the Molech/Moloch connection, the children were to "pass through the fire," this signifying the manner of their deaths. Moloch should also seen as a god of the underworld, as in order to get to Moloch, one had to be burned with fire from underneath. Since there was no 'heaven above' in the ancient myths that men might go to, they proceeded into the earth, or, under the world.
