Dear <Your Name>,
In case you haven't had a chance to read my message below, I'm sending it to you again.
Summer is just about here, and we need to be in a good position to continue our vital work of supporting our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world.
Will you give your immediate gift now?
Looking ahead, we're getting news from Nigeria, but I can't share it with you just yet. But there will be more to come, so please keep an eye on your inbox in the coming weeks.
Thanks again for your support to strengthen and encourage suffering believers around the world. Your partnership is a true blessing to our ministry! Dr. David Curry
Subject: Ibrahim's terrible choice: His faith ... or his children? Dear <Your Name>,
Where Ibrahim* lives in North Africa, Christians often keep their faith a secret, even from their closest family members.
The dominant religion in this part of the world is Islam, and those who are discovered to have converted to Christianity—especially if they come from a Muslim background—could have their children taken away or be forced to divorce.
Some, like Ibrahim, are brutally beaten by their own families and pressured to renounce their faith. But rather than deny Jesus, many make the agonizing decision to leave all they know and love behind.
After suffering at the hands of his family, Ibrahim was forced to flee, leaving behind his wife and two young children. He found refuge at his pastor's house, as well as a community of believers. Then, after three months, something unexpected happened ...
Read more of Ibrahim's story here. Stand with persecuted Christians now Today, we have some really great news. A generous friend of Open Doors believes so much in helping our Christian family stand strong in the fire, they have given $20,000 as a challenge to YOU and others like you all over the country. I hope this Challenge Grant will be a strong encouragement to you as you consider how God might use you to strengthen and support courageous believers all over the world. Bibles and Christian literature To help believers stay rooted in God's Word. Discipleship training To equip believers to tell others about Jesus. Vocational training for women To empower persecuted Christian women and help them earn their own incomes. Legal advocacy To support believers facing difficult legal trials. Christians under pressure "I couldn't renounce Jesus. I couldn't renounce my faith. I said to my children, 'I love you, I love you, but I love Jesus more.'"
—Ibrahim Challenging summer months ahead For Open Doors, the summer season is challenging. Giving typically slows down. Yet the needs of our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world remain constant ... and in many cases, critical.
In many regions, Christians are suffering in the constant fire of persecution.
But even in the fire, they're on fire for Jesus—which is the focus of our new Church on Fire campaign—how God is working through His people all over the world, even as they feel the flames of persecution.
Everywhere we go, we see God's powerful love at work!
I hope you'll join us by giving a generous gift to show you're standing with your global Christian family. Your donation will help provide the encouragement and support our brothers and sisters need when they need it most, and will help them know they're not alone, no matter what they may face.
