Don't get me wrong - many of these places still rely on pretentious music, hot servers, and overpriced drinks to pack the house, but usually, there is still something fundamentally unique about each venue. In an extremely competitive market, you almost HAVE to be a one-of-a-kind place. Otherwise, you'll lose your clientele to the bar down the street that has clown strippers. Enter Baby Baby: a hangout area in Copenhagen that is unlike anything you've seen before. Instead of competing for high-end real estate, these people decided to invest in a dilapidated area, long forgotten by most citizens, and the results are amazing. It's that time of year again -- where everything that shouldn't taste like pumpkin does, corn mazes exist outside of scary movies, and women everywhere plan what slutty costume they will wear for Halloween. Also... haunted houses. Lots and lots of haunted houses. For whatever reason, most of us enjoy a good scare from time-to-time. Walking through a house of horrors, not knowing what spooky things are lurking at each turn, gives you that feel-good kind of adrenaline. You know... like skydiving or crystal meth. According to this article, one haunted house in Tennessee is so scary participants need to sign waivers and have safe words. And barely anybody has been able to complete it! Would you? Rewarding A**hole Behavior   Whoever said "nice guys finish last" was totally right and it's a crappy thing to realize because we are taught to believe being virtuous and kind is the more advantageous path. But it's all bullcrap. When all is said and done, it's usually the dickwads that move up the social, political, and financial ladders in life. Why? Two reasons. First of all, it's easier to just let assholes have their way then fight them tooth-and-nail at every little bump along life's path - whether that hurdle is seemingly inconsequential or not. Second, assholes can be scary people, and not all of us are emotionally or mentally equipped to deal with altercations or confrontations.
