First Man and First Woman and Israelite migration

The following is a demystification of the Navajo First Man and First Woman story.  I hope you enjoy.  Note:  While the Israelites are mentioned specifically here along with certain of their sins, this in no way implies that they are more wicked than any other people.

First man "legends"
(from http://www.firstpeople.us/FP-Html-Legends/CreationofFirstManandFirstWoman-Navajo.html)

(Concerning the Navajo Israelite migration) The first people came up through three worlds and settled in the fourth world.  They had been driven from each successive world be cause they had quarreled with one another and committed adultery."  The Israelites, engaged in the practices of idolatry and adultery in Egypt.  They repented and the Lord God (Yahweh) delivered them from the hand of the Egyptians and gave them the land of the Canaanites.  This is travelling from the first world to the second world.  After the Israelites had lived in Canaan (now called Israel) the people split into two groups, the house of Israel and the house of Judah.  The house of Israel, due to their adultery and their idolatry were taken away into Assyria. (This is moving form the second world into the third world.)  After being taken into Assyria, the Israelites migrated across Europe, eventually landing in Scotland, which they called Sukkot-land (this is the origin of the name Scotland) because they did not plan to stay there.  From there, they sailed across the Atlantic Ocean eventually making their way to the American southwest where they eventually became known as the Pueblo.  (This is leaving the third world and entering the fourth.  Concerning the practice of idolatry and adultery, this was continued even in Assyria, although it seems that the house of Israel which became known as the Khomri or the Khimri (which is the origin of the word Cimmerian) left of their own accord.)

(Concerning the Navajo and Yahweh's call)  Late in the autumn they heard in the east the distant sound of a great voice calling. They listened and waited, and soon heard the voice nearer and louder than before.  Once more they listened and heard it louder still, very near.  A moment later four mysterious beings appeared. These were White Body, god of this world; Blue Body, the sprinkler; Yellow Body; and Black Body, the god of fire. Using signs but without speaking, the gods tried to instruct the people, but they were not understood.  (The Lord had not forgotten his people.  Even after they left Europe and had settled in America, he had not forgotten them.  He had even called them to return to him, in spirit if not in flesh.  He used many signs and wonders which they recognized, but they would not listen.  Yahweh (also called Elohim) was known to them as White Body, Blue Body, and Yellow Body.  God the Father is called White Body due to white being the color of sinlessness; Yeshua haMashiac, called Jesus Christ, was called Blue Body in that he is the Word of God made flesh and God's word is associated with water.  Where he gets the name Sprinkler comes from the Levitical priesthood in that they would take the blood of the lamb and sprinkle it on the four horns of the altar; the Holy Ghost is called Yellow Body because as a light he guides us in all truth.  Black Body, known to Christians as the Devil and Satan, tried to pass himself off as God, also using signs and wonders, but these were lying signs and wonders.  He is called the god of fire not because he is a god but because he is worshiped as a god and because he will one day burn in hell fire forever.)

(Concerning the Navajo response to Yahweh's call)  When the gods had gone, the people discussed their mysterious visit and tried without success to figure out the signs. The gods appeared on four days in succession and attempted to communicate through signs, but their efforts came to nothing.  (Three times Yahweh tried to get the house of Israel (here called the Navajo) to return to him but they refused.  He then tried a fourth time.  After they refused this time, he quit trying to get them to return.)

(Concerning Satan's words to the Navajo)  On the fourth day when the other gods departed, Black Body remained behind and spoke to the people in their own language: "You do not seem to understand our signs, so I must tell you what they mean. We want to make people who look more like us. You have bodies like ours, but you have the teeth, the feet and the claws of beasts and insects. The new humans will have hands and feet like ours. Also, you are unclean; you smell bad. We will come back in twelve days. Be clean when we return."  (Satan, trying to pass himself off as Elohim, spoke to the people in their own language.  He told the Pueblo/Navajo that they were not made in the image of God, but rather they came from the beasts of the field.  He told them that in former time they had the feet, teeth, and claws of beasts and insects.  Another version of this would be called the theory of evolution, although it would not take place for many centuries.  He also told them that they could be like Elohim, that is, Gods.)

(Concerning the creation of Adam and Eve)  When the gods appeared, Blue Body and Black Body each carried a sacred buckskin. White Body carried two ears of corn, one yellow, one white, each covered completely with grains. The gods laid one buckskin on the ground with the head to the west, and on this they placed the two ears of corn with their tips to the east. Under the white ear they put the feather of a white eagle; under the yellow the feather of a yellow eagle.  Then they told the people to stand back and allow the wind to enter. Between the skins the wind blew from the east and the yellow wind from the west. While the wind was blowing the eight of the gods, the Mirage People, came and walked around the objects on the ground four times. As they walked, the eagle feathers, whose tips protruded from the buckskins, were seen to move.  When the Mirage People had finished their walk, the upper buckskin was lifted. The ears of corn had disappeared; a man and a woman lay in their place. The white ear of corn had become the man, the yellow ear the woman, First Man and First Woman. It was the wind that gave them life, and it is the wind that comes out of our mouths now that gives us life. When this ceases to blow, we die. (When Elohim made man, he made their skin to be a white/yellow combination.  Adam, the man, he made to be white and Eve, he made to be yellow.  The wind is the breath that God breathed into Adam and caused him to become a living soul.  Also, when he stop breathing, we die.)

(Concerning the first house and the first marriage)  The gods had the people build an enclosure of brushwood, and when it was finished, First Man and first Woman went in. The gods told them, "Live together now as husband and wife."  (Yahweh had the angels build Adam and Eve a house made of brushwood in the garden of Eden.  After the Lord made Eve, he presented to them the house and told them to live together as husband and wife; and from that point on they were, and did.)

(Concerning Adam and Eve's children)  At the end of four days, First Woman bore hermaphrodite twins. In four more days she gave birth to a boy and a girl, who grew to maturity in four days and lived with one another as husband and wife.  In all, First Man and First Woman had five pairs of twins, and all except the first became couples who had children. In four days after the last twins were born, the gods came again and took First man and First Woman away to the eastern mountain, dwelling place of the gods. The couple stayed there for four days, and when they returned, all their children were taken to the eastern mountain for four days.  (The hermaphrodite twins spoken of are in reality Cain and Abel, who obviously could not marry and have children.  They married sisters who would come shortly after them.  Adam and Eve had five pairs of twins in all, with two males as the first, and then a boy and a girl for each of the other four.  These became married to each other and had children.  After the last set of twins was born, the Lord took Adam and Eve to Horeb where the Lord dwelt.  They stayed there for four days.  When they returned, all their children were taken there for four days as well.  This is reminiscent of Moses spending forty days and forty nights on Mount Sinai, and may represent a ritual purification of the believing children of Adam and Eve.)

(Concerning false religious practices and their origins)  The gods may have taught them the awful secrets of witchcraft. Witches always use masks, and after they returned, they would occassionally put on masks and pray for the good things they needed; abundant rain and abundant crops.  (It was not the Lord God who taught men witchcraft (also known as the Mystery religions) but devils coming and perverting the good things of God.  Men and women were taught to put on masks, often of animals such as bulls and goats, and then engaging in perverse sexual practices as a form of worship to false gods.  That witches always use masks means that they hide what they do for fear of being found out and killed.  While it is good to pray for things like good crops and abundant rain, our prayers should be directed to God rather than the things of the earth or the stars or any thing other that the Lord.)

(Concerning the marriage practices of witches)  Witches also marry people who are too closely related to them, which is what First Man and First Woman's children had done. After they had been to the eastern mountain, however, the brothers and sisters separated. keeping their first marriages secret, the brohters now married women of the Mirage People and the sisters married men of the Mirage People.  But they never told anyone, even their new families, the mysteries they had learned form the gods. Every four days the women bore children, who grew to maturity in four days, then married, and in turn had children in four days.  In this way many children of First Man and First woman filled the land with people.  (At the first, it was necessary for the descendants of Adam and Eve to marry so that they could have children and populate the earth; there was no sin imparted at this time.  After Adam and Eve had visited Horeb, the practice of marrying one's brother or sister was stopped because they were too closely related; it was no longer necessary for this to happen to populate the earth.  Many of their children after this left their spouses and made new marriages, keeping their first marriage secret even from their new family.  The families that practiced witchcraft kept it secret, believing themselves to have receive secret knowledge that not everyone was worthy to receive.)
