Forensic profiler: Meet Obama – the 'sandman'
Eminent psychiatrist reveals mysterious code
in which America's leader speaks

An eminent psychiatrist and forensic profiler suggests Barack Obama is "confessing" to the American people who he is and what he wants to do to the country, but most citizens are just not trained to decode his messages.

Dr. Andrew G. Hodges, in his new book "The Obama Confessions," makes the case that, because of the hurts he experienced in his young life, Obama has overcompensated with a sophisticated communication system that can be understood by reading between the lines of what he says.

What does that decoding reveal?

"Obama reveals the completely secret trauma that controls his life, resulting in his deep misguided fury expressed toward America," writes Hodges.

To understand Obama, says Hodges, one must see him as "the sandman" – the way he views himself because of the trauma in his life.

It was author and commentator Thomas Sowell who first drew the allusion to Obama as "the sandman."

Learn "the Obama code" from Andrew Hodges' "The Obama Confession" – now available in the WND Superstore.

"The track record of Obama's pronouncements on a wide range of issues suggests that anything he says is a message written in sand, and easily blown away by the next political winds."

But Obama has referred to himself as "the sandman." What does he mean?

At a Jan. 19 fundraiser at Harlem's legendary Apollo Theater, Obama took to the stage toward the end of the evening and broke out in song.

"It had been a particularly musical occasion and the president's appearance followed several performers including soul singer the Rev. Al Green, whom Obama acknowledged," Hodges explains in his book. "But the entertainers were expected to sing – Obama was only expected to speak. Without warning, however, he delivered a surprisingly pleasing falsetto lyric, 'I'mmm … sooo in love with you' – the opening line from Green's 1972 hit 'Let's Stay Together.' Not believing their ears, the audience bursts into applause. After the ovation subsides, Obama takes it all in, then hesitantly glances toward his staff off stage right. Talking directly to them but also to America, he blurts out, 'Those guys didn't think I would do it. I told you I was going to do it.'"

But Obama added a comment most reporters missed.

"The sandman did not come out," Obama said. "Now don't worry, I can't sing like you, but I just wanted to show my appreciation."

Hodges says "the sandman" did indeed come out that night – and it was Obama, because that's how he sees himself. It's part of a pattern in his speech of denying the truth, saying the opposite of what he means.

"Blatant denials often imply the exact opposite – especially following Obama's emphasis on overcoming denial – suggesting 'the sandman did come out tonight.' Indeed, he's saying, 'I am the sandman who came out on the stage tonight.'"

What is "the sandman" metaphor all about?

"The vivid image initially suggests something soft and yielding, something lacking a solid foundation," explains Hodges. "There are other immediate possibilities, but in fact he leads in this very direction of weakness and something not real, not strong – something lacking in character – such as a president who would flippantly take a dare. Also 'coming out tonight' suggests coming out with a secret. Is he advising us to look closely at his character and ask fundamental questions to unearth the secret? Surely the character question also fits with telling Americans he has done something unimaginable, gotten elected president in spite of major character flaws."

Previously, that same evening, Obama denied what he would do – insisting, "I'm not going to sing." Then he sang. Then he insisted "the sandman" did not come out.

What does all this mean? Hodges writes:
In a Fathers' Day speech on June 15, 2008, Obama addressed the congregation of the Apostolic Church in Chicago. This wasn't just any Fathers' Day but one on which he was campaigning to be America's leader – the father of our nation.

Obama delivered the speech virtually spontaneously, almost off the cuff, and – on such a personal day for him – he surely wrote it himself. He opens with a striking story, a New Testament parable no less. At the end of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus closes by saying, "Whoever hears these words of mine, and does them, shall be likened to a wise man who built his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock."

But Obama stops there, leaving out the second part of the parable about foolish builders erecting a house on a foundation of sand, but he refers to it extensively by implication – the centerpiece of his speech: "Now everyone who hears these sayings of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand: and the rains came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it fell. And great was its fall."

A violent storm challenges the foundation of both houses. The home built on rock stands while the home built on sand collapses. Underscoring this parable on Fathers' Day, Obama depicts fathers as crucial builders of homes, men who structure their children's very foundations.

And he particularly emphasizes a son's foundation. "Of all the rocks upon which we build our lives," Obama tells us, "we are reminded today … that family is the most important. And we are called to recognize and honor how critical every father is to that foundation."

Obama then goes on to talk about his own absentee father.

"Obama compares two types of fathers, the involved father who builds solid-rock foundations in his kids and the absent father who builds weak foundations for his children, foundations 'made of sand,'" writes Hodges. "Yet Obama, by omitting the second part of the biblical parable, shows that he simply cannot bring himself to say the words 'sand foundation.' Why? For him, that phrase hits too close to home."

Obama continues: "I know what it means to have an absent father."

"His words strongly suggest that the parable could be titled 'How Obama Sr. built Obama Jr.,'" writes Hodges. "He was unconsciously pressured to tell us about that absent father, the foolish builder who left him with a worrisome foundation. Obama makes repeated scathing references to absent fathers – selfish, unavailable, irresponsible, immature, and destructive. He underscores lost boys who have no father to show them how to be a man. He then describes how such absent fathers produce sons with 'behavioral problems' which mirror their own. In short, Obama tells us that he is the sandman son of a sandman father, a father who failed to build a solid foundation of character in him but instead left him with nothing but sand inside. Obama in essence warns America that he would be like his father, lacking in integrity and prone to bad behavior which undermined the community. This according to the role model rule Obama so carefully establishes."

Hodges continues: "Between the lines Obama has verified that an extremely painful trauma constantly lives inside of him. It doesn't take much to reopen such a wound – 'a hole' in himself created by his absent father. That's exactly what Obama later labeled it, 'a hole,' an emptiness within his inner self. Right off he has revealed the motivations that have controlled him his entire life. At the same time, he remains consciously in denial about his personal pain."

Who is Hodges to draw such conclusions?

He has identified killers by studying ransom notes, emails, letters and police interviews to spot secret confessions. He decoded O.J. Simpson's "suicide note" to confirm he had committed a double murder. He deciphered the JonBenet ransom note to identify the child's killer. He studied statements by Joran van der Sloot and Deepak Kalpoe to tie them to the slaying of Natalee Holloway. He showed how Casey Anthony secretly confessed to killing her daughter in 200 letters written to a jail mate. He even decoded Bill Clinton's Lewinsky confession-apology on TV, revealing the awful pain which led to Clinton's self-sabotaging behavior. Hodges employs a unique psycholinguistic technique he calls "ThoughtPrint Decoding" to "read between the lines" of people's statements – called "the cutting-edge of forensic science" by expert investigators.

Hodges examines Obama's entire life story from his controversial and mysterious birth, to his Muslim childhood, to his earliest indoctrination by radical left-wing activists and finally to his historic ascension to the White House.

"Wherever we look, Obama demonstrates another major boundary violation – more disruption of America's foundation," explains Hodges. "His inaugural address again foreshadows the specific boundary he will attack next – in another caution to America. Here he repeatedly insisted on the preeminence of the rule of law and the Constitution, 'Our Founding Fathers … drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man. … Those ideals still light the world.'"

It sounds good – on the surface. But that's not what Obama meant, suggests Hodges. He meant exactly the opposite and was telegraphing, in Obama code, that he would follow a path that is the opposite of was the Founders had in mind.

"Of course, Obama himself remains in denial about the full extent of his intentionally destructive motivations, but we can be sure he is consciously aware of significant deception," says Hodges. "There is a famous phrase therapists use that applies here; we employ it to describe unconsciously intentional motives and actions: 'accidentally on purpose.'"

Hodges contends Obama's mind is secretly a master at describing such motives.

Joel Gilbert's documentary, "Dreams from My Real Father," is available at WND's Superstore

Burroughs, a former Chicago Park District commissioner, co-founded the DuSable Museum of African American History in 1961. The museum serves today as the current depository of an important collection of Davis letters and manuscripts.

New research by Gilbert has also established that the Davis residence at 2994 Kalihi Street in Honolulu had a seedy past in the sex trade, dating back to the early 1950s, when Davis first moved into the house.

WND has previously reported Gilbert argues in his full-length documentary "Dreams from My Real Father: A Story of Reds and Deception" that Davis, the radical poet and journalist who moved from Chicago to Hawaii in the 1940s, is the biological and ideological father of Barack Obama, not the Kenyan Barack Obama, who came from Africa in 1959 to attend the University of Hawaii.

As WND has also reported Gilbert believes 2994 Kalihi Street was the location where Davis took a series of nude photographs of a teenage Ann Dunham, the future mother of Barack Obama.

As documented by political scientist Paul Kengor's book, "The Communist," published in July, Davis was a card-carrying member of the Communist Party of the USA.

About a year ago, a book called "Where's the Birth Certificate? The Case That Barack Obama Is Not Eligible to Be President" by New York Times bestselling author Jerome Corsi was the fastest-selling new book in the country a month before its scheduled release.

On the day it hit No. 1 at Amazon, White House records indicate Obama was desperate to derail the issue of eligibility from breaking through into the mainstream media, which has been complicit in covering up all questions pertaining to the issue for four years.

What Obama did next was not unexpected by Corsi and the WND Books team that published it.

"Jerry Corsi called me a couple weeks earlier and told me his sources said the White House was going to release a fraudulent Hawaiian birth certificate before the book released to head off the success of the book and to end the burgeoning controversy," says Joseph Farah, founder and chief executive officer of WND and WND Books. "There was not much we could do about that. We were anticipating the move and planning to subject the document to intense forensic investigation."

On April 27, 2011, the White House posted the alleged long-form birth certificate on its official government website to quell the growing doubts about its existence.

"The media, partners in the crime of the cover-up of Obama's ineligibility for the presidency, quickly embraced the document without even a cursory examination," said Farah.

Ronald Ratliff murder

On Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, I was reading in the Post and Courier on the shooting of Melissity Hayes, estranged wife of Ronald David Ratliff, who was wanted in connection with the death of his mother-in-law, Linda K. Hayes.

It happened that I had two editions of the Post and Courier: One, a Wednesday edition; the other a Thursday edition, 01/26/2011 and 01/27/2011 respectively. In the Wednesday edition, it was reported that Mr. Ratliff had been hiding in the attic of his father-in-law's, Mrs. Hayes' father's, house, laying on top of an air conditioning vent waiting for an attempt to shoot Mrs. Hayes. From the article, Mr. Ratliff was found dead of an apparent gunshot to the neck around 7:00 PM Tuesday. It further stated that Mr. Ratliff had been there for three days, waiting for an opportunity to shoot his estranged wife. Evidence found at the scene included a .380 caliber handgun, believed to be used in the shooting, a pillow, and granola bars.

In the Thursday edition, 01/27/2011, It was stated that an armed man, presumably Mr. Ratliff, approached his father-in-law's house around 4:15 PM. Mrs. Hayes had apparently been staying there during her separation from her husband. Mr. Ratliff approached the house, armed, and fired two shots through a kitchen window, one of which hit Mrs. Hayes in the right shoulder. A Charleston County Sheriff's Deputy, sitting outside Mr. Hayes' house, heard the shots, went inside and evacuated Mr. Hayes and Melissity. It is further stated that Mr. Ratliff entered the house during time of the evacuation, and hid himself in the attic, where he was found dead at approximately 7:00 PM Tuesday, 01/25/2011.

PROBLEMS WITH THE OFFICIAL STORIES

1) Most suicide victims don't shoot themselves in the neck. They would cut themselves. Or if they did shoot themselves, they would shoot themselves in the head, where death would be instantaneous.

2) If Mr. Ratliff had been laying wait in the attic for three days, as was earlier reported, why then did they (Charleston County Sheriff's Office) change their story the next day, and say that Mr. Ratliff had shot Mrs. Hayes from the outside instead of from on the air conditioning vent? (That was the first version of how Mrs. Hayes was shot.)

3) If Mr. Ratliff had been laying on top of the air conditioning vent as earlier reported, why did they change their story?

4) If the latter story is true, that Mr. Ratliff shot Mrs. Hayes from outside the house, then the evidence such as the pillow, the granola bars, etc..., must have been planted. Mr. Hayes nor his daughter had any prior knowledge of Mr. Ratliff being anywhere near them. They believed him to be in Florida where he had family, so they could not have done it. Mr. Ratliff certainly would not have planted the evidence, since he was only going there to shoot Mrs. Hayes. The only logical answer, then, is that Charleston County Sheriff's Office employees planted the evidence.

U.S. Marshals were involved in a joint vehicle search with CCSO that happened earlier that day, however, I read no statement from them and cannot reasonably conclude that they were involved in the cover-up.

As of today, 09/28/2012, SLED (South Carolina Law Enforcement Division) has done nothing about this. A call to the FBI revealed that because it wasn't a political figure, they would not investigate. I am now appealing to the US Marshals service for help in this matter. Maybe they won't turn a deaf ear like SLED has.

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups And set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of little boy

'Mister,' he said, 'I want to buy one of your puppies.'

'Well,' said the farmer,
as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, 'These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money.'

The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.
As the dogs made their way to the fence,

the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse

Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up....

'I want that one,' the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, 'Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would.'

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers.

In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said,
'You see sir, I don't run too well myself,
and he will need someone who understands.'

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup.

NightWatch, 27 September, 2012

NightWatch For the night of 27 September 2012 Israel-Iran: Several western media outlets reported a leak of Israeli Foreign Ministry findings about the impact of sanctions on Iran. The Israeli Foreign Ministry apparently judges that the international sanctions against Iran are having a dramatic impact in Iran and are creating internal discontent that is focused on the Iranian government. At the same time, the report said the sanctions had not yet had any effect in altering the Iranian nuclear program. The document concluded an additional round of sanctions needs to be drawn up and implemented. Comment: The leak was deliberate. The Jerusalem Post published that the release of the document is believed to have been done with the approval of Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman's office. According to the Post, Liberman, in a recent Israel Radio interview, predicted that public discontent would boil over in Iran within the year, in the run-up to the elections there, which are due in mid-2013. Comment: The leak is tantalizing because a populist uprising in Iran that overthrew the government would be one of the few successful uses of economic warfare to achieve political change against any country not an island. The new reports and presumably the leak contained no details about the intelligence evidence that supports the Foreign Ministry's findings that Iranians are blaming increased hardship on the government. Iranian presidential elections may act as a pressure release for discontent and buy time for the regime. Syria: More than 305 people were killed on 26 September, according to a human rights group, making 27 September the bloodiest single day of the 18 month uprising. The group also claimed that at least 14 died in a twin bomb attack on the armed forces general staff headquarters in Damascus. Syrian authorities sent text messages over cell phones nationwide Thursday with a message for rebels fighting President Bashar Asad's regime: "Game over." The messages, signed by the Syrian Arab Army, urged the rebels to surrender their weapons and warned the countdown to evict foreign fighters has begun. Comment: The bombing in Damascus reinforces earlier judgments that the government has trouble in maintaining security in the capital. In perspective, however, the number and frequency of such bombings are low. Their occasional effectiveness appears to be a function of the Syrian authorities' determination to maintain a high degree of normality in daily life in Damascus. That makes the city vulnerable to car bombers. The text messages from the Syrian army suggest that it is maintaining its morale. The more important report this week is that Lebanese Hezbollah is sending fighters to augment the Alawites. Hezbollah fighters fought for Shiites in Iraq, so such a move is not unprecedented. Hezbollah has the capability to deny Lebanon and Jordan as a safe haven for the Syrian Sunni opposition and can force it to fight on two fronts. Sudan and South Sudan: Update. The two countries signed agreements Thursday to demilitarize their border and resume the transport of southern oil through the north. The signed agreements do not deal with the oil-producing Abyei region and several other disputed border regions. Both sides will pull their soldiers back 10 kilometers from the border. An economic settlement settles issues such as pensions, banking, national debt, and trade matters. The countries also reached agreement on the status of each country's nationals on the other's territory. The deals mean that oil production and shipment can resume because they also agreed on transit fees the South, which has the oil deposits, will pay to use northern pipelines. Comment: Leaders in the two Sudans seem to have taken a long time to learn the basic lesson that war is not good for prosperity in either country. This is tonight's good news. Death of the Dinosaurs

The dinosaurs died before the Flood, never making it onto the Noah's Ark. The Bible says that the animals came onto the Ark by twos, the male and his female. One thing it never mentions is dinosaurs. Something like this would get special attention. Why else were there no T-Rexes mentioned getting on the Ark? They would only have been able to fit on the first floor, and then they would have busted through the second floor, and maybe the third.

Obama changes his story:
'Born to a single mom'
Conflicts with tale of multicultural family bound by 'improbable love'

Barack Obama's path to the White House began when he famously introduced himself to the world at the Democratic National Convention in 2004 as the product of an "improbable love" between a Kansas girl and a Kenyan goat herder.

Elsewhere, Obama has insisted that the love endured even when his father had to leave a wife and a 2-year-old child behind to pursue dreams at Harvard. In his autobiography, Obama indicated that if only Harvard would have offered enough money to support all three of them, as another school did, they could have stayed together.

Now, it appears, Obama is aligning his story with evidence WND has reported for many years that his mother, Ann Dunham, never lived with Barack Hussein Obama Sr. and left Hawaii with her son only weeks after he was born.

Obama's campaign website posted a photograph and a quotation from a rally yesterday in Golden, Colo., in which Obama declared his mother was not married at the time of his birth.

Learn more about the real story of Obama's origins in "A Question of Eligibility," "Where's the REAL Birth Certificate?" and "Your Papers, Please?"

"Let's face it, a mixed kid from Hawaii born to a single mom is not likely to become president of the United States," Obama told the campaign rally. "But in America it can happen because of education, because somebody gave me opportunity."

The Obama campaign also posted the comment on Twitter, apparently seeing no conflict with the official Obama nativity story.

In September 2009, WND reported Obama repeated in an address televised to the nation's schoolchildren the story he first told in his autobiography, "Dreams from My Father," indicating the family was together until his father left for Harvard in June 1962.

"I get it. I know what it's like," Obama said in the televised speech. "My father left my family when I was 2 years old, and I was raised by a single mom who had to work and who struggled at times to pay the bills and wasn't always able to give us the things that other kids had."

In the autobiography, Obama related a story his mother allegedly told him: "When your father graduated from UH (University of Hawaii), he received two scholarship offers. One was to the New School, here in New York. The other one was to Harvard. The New School agreed to pay for everything – room and board, a job on campus, enough to support all three of us. Harvard just agreed to pay tuition. But Barack was such a stubborn bastard, he had to go to Harvard. How could I refuse the best education? He told me. That's all he could think about, proving that he was the best."

Learn more about the real story of Obama's origins in "A Question of Eligibility," "Where's the REAL Birth Certificate?" and "Your Papers, Please?"

But as WND reported in August 2009, Ann Dunham never shared a common address with Barack Obama Sr., either before or after the baby was born. The address published in the birth announcements for Barack Obama Jr. in two local Honolulu newspapers, as WND also reported, was the address of the grandparents.

In June 2011, WND reported Immigration and Naturalization documents indicated the agency has doubts that Barack Obama Sr. and Ann Dunham were ever married. The INS, records show, was prepared to contest any attempt by Obama to extend his visa on the basis of his claim that he was married to a U.S. citizen and had fathered a U.S. citizen child.

In September 2009, WND reported no marriage certificate has ever been found for Obama Sr. and Dunham. Also, as WND reported, there appear to be no records documenting the whereabouts of Dunham in the six months between her purported marriage in February 1961 and the baby's birth in August.

WND was first to report Dunham left Hawaii only weeks after the future president was born to enroll at the University of Washington in Seattle. Later, a university course bulletin showed the classes on Dunham's transcript were held on the Seattle campus, beginning in late September 1961. Barack Obama Sr., meanwhile, continued his studies at the University of Hawaii in the fall of 1961.

NightWatch For the night of 26 September 2012 Japan: Japan has sovereignty over the disputed Senkaku Island and will not come to a compromise that would represent a retreat from that position, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda said 26 September, after attending the U.N. General Assembly session. Comment: Noda's statement guarantees future confrontations with the Chinese. No one in Asia will thank China if its assertions of sovereignty ignite Japanese militarism again. China did not fare well in the last test of strength with Japan over regional hegemony. Japan has the most advanced armed forces… self-defense forces … in Asia. Somalia-Kenya: Update. The fall of the al Shabaab stronghold and Indian Ocean port city of Kismayo is imminent, according to the Kenyan Broadcasting Corporation. Kenyan Defense Forces (KDF) fixed wing combat aircraft attacked the city on 25 September, destroying a warehouse and an armory, KDF sources said. Comment: Competent applications of combat air power appear to be decisive in the fight against al Shabaab. Without access to the Indian Ocean and air defense weapons, al Shabaab cannot survive as an organized force on its own, meaning it requires the patronage and protection of sympathetic Somali tribes. Lacking air defenses, the tribes also are vulnerable. No news outlets have reported recently on the attitudes of the tribes towards al Shabaab. Egypt: At the UN General Assembly on 26 September, President Mursi said Egypt opposes foreign military intervention in Syria and is committed to pursuing an end to the Syrian crisis through Arab, regional and international negotiations. Mursi also insisted that public speech must be responsible, not free. Comment: The significance of Mursi's first and possibly only speech at the UN is that it purports to establish him as a leader of the Arab world, challenging King Abdallah of Saudi Arabia. Mursi has cheek, if not good sense, because Saudi Arabia is providing $2 billion in aid to Egypt. As a Muslim Brotherhood member, Mursi has strong reasons to oppose the Alawite government in Syria, which massacred the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood at Hama in 1982. However, Saudi Arabia opposes both the pro-Iranian Alawite government of Syrian President Asad and the Muslim Brotherhood. Mursi did not wrap himself in glory at the UN. Mali: Malian authorities sent a letter to the United Nations formally requesting authorization for a West African-led military force to help it seize back territory from Islamist rebels. French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius disclosed the existence of the letter on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. Fabius said, "The Malian government wants this force." He said the letter to the UN was signed by Mali's President Dioncounda Traore and Prime Minister Cheikh Modibo Diarra and had been sent to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on 19 September. He said the request outlined the precise terms under which Mali envisaged welcoming troops from the West African regional bloc ECOWAS to fight alongside government forces battling to recover land lost to rebel forces. Comment: Under the Malian proposal, West African troops would support the Malian troops "on the ground" in retaking the Islamist-occupied north of the country. France has promised to provide logistic support but not combat troops. "Military air-borne equipment will be provided by countries like Nigeria but also by countries like France and other countries of the international community who have those means," according to an official document. The document said "nearly two months" would be needed to get the allied forces' operation started and begin rooting out the extremists in the north. Some 3,000 troops will constitute the initial force contingent. The ECOWAS force will be operative after receiving approval from the UN. The West Africans have not moved swiftly, but the northern rebels are going nowhere. The attack in Benghazi has added urgency to the efforts to assemble a force capable of denying al Qaida access to northern Mali for use as a base of operations. Mali-Tuaregs: The Tuareg rebels' National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (MNLA) warned that it could join "Islamist and terrorist groups" occupying northern Mali if West African troops intervene in the region. "The MNLA will not be a shield for the Islamists to stop the international community from kicking them out of the Azawad" region, Ibrahim Ag Mohamed Asseleh, a member of the Azawad transitional council, the MNLA's provisional government, told AFP. He warned "against any military intervention in Azawad without prior agreement between the MNLA and the authorities in Bamako." Otherwise this intervention could lead us to seek alliances of convenience with Islamist and terrorist groups," he added in Ouagadougou where a number of MNLA officials are based, including its head, Bilal Ag Acherif. Comment: The Tuaregs oppose the Islamic fundamentalists who continue to enforce their brutish interpretation of Sharia in northern Mali. They represent a significant force to reinforce operations against the fundamentalists and terrorists, in return for recognition of their autonomy. West African and Malian forces will need their knowledge of the ground and their fighters. One news outlet reported the al Qaida elements that murdered the US ambassador to Libya operated from northern Mali. This claim has not been confirmed by other sources. Mali-China: For the record. China has offered support to the Malian military in its efforts to reclaim the northern part of the country from Islamist rebels. Greece: The General Confederation of Employees of Greece and the civil servants' union federation declared a 24-hour nationwide strike on Wednesday in protest against the finalization of the new package of austerity measures demanded by Greece's creditors. Tens of thousands of protesters demonstrated outside Greece's parliament on 26 September against austerity measures. The strike included doctors, teachers, tax workers, ferry operators and air traffic controllers. The Greek government is looking for ways to cut 11.5 billion euros ($14.7 billion) from the country's budget. Comment: The economic hardships and austerity measures carry the risk of a breakdown in civil order. The key indicator of a spreading, unmanageable breakdown is the duration of protests. Thus far they have been short lived in Spain and Greece. The international media has suggested the Eurozone crisis is now on a more stable trajectory. The protests suggest otherwise. European bankers and financial experts continue to fail to distinguish financial risks from real threats. There will be more outbreaks of civil disorder and more violent clashes. No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you? So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people.. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

Foot note: Fort Hood Texas ......another Muslim 39 years old killed 13 people and wounded 30 some odd others... Does this fit the profile!

NOW OUR COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF IS TELLING EVERYONE
THAT THE YOUNG MUSLIM THAT ATTEMPTED TO BLOW

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE SHITTING ME OR WHAT!!! AS AN OLD FRIEND
USED TO SAY: "PLEASE DON'T PISS ON MY LEG AND TELL
ME IT'S RAINING."
So what!!! if the minor inconvenience of safety is caused by a bit more scrutiny of certain passengers.
WAKE UP!!!!!!
AMERICA.

NightWatch, 25 September, 2012

NightWatch For the night of 25 September 2012 North Korea: Update. The special session of the Supreme Peoples' Assembly adjourned on 25 September without passing any significant legislation. The major achievements announced thus far are personnel changes and the extension of mandatory education for children to 12 years, as in most of the world. Comment: Reliable South Korean media sources reported that a package of agricultural reforms would be approved. That did not happen. At this juncture, this out of phase session of the Supreme Peoples' Assembly appears to have been a waste of national resources. However, Readers should stay tuned. Nothing in North Korea is ever as it appears at first report. China: China announced Tuesday that its first aircraft carrier, christened "Liaoning" has entered service. In a brief notice on the Defense Ministry's website, the ministry said the carrier's commissioning significantly boosted the navy's modern combat capabilities along with its ability to co-operate in responding to natural disasters and other non-traditional threats. "It has important significance in effectively safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development benefits, and advancing world peace and common development," the statement said. Writing in Tuesday's China Daily newspaper, retired Rear Admiral Yang Yi said the carrier would be used to master the technology for more advanced carriers and to train in how to operate such a craft in a battle group and with vessels from other nation's navies. "When China has a more balanced and powerful navy, the regional situation will be more stable as various forces that threaten regional peace will no longer dare to act rashly," Yang wrote. Comment: The name of the ship refers to Liaoning Province, which is the location of the ship's home port of Dalian. The US Navy's naming convention for battleships was US states. The Chinese have named their first aircraft carrier after a province. Curious symmetry. China plans to build five more carriers. The carrier still has no air wing and has practiced no combat maneuvers or battle group maneuvers. At this point it contributes nothing to China's naval combat power or any of the other benefits cited by the Defense Ministry. Retired Admiral Yang's commentary tends to confirm other, independent conclusions that Liaoning will be used as a technology demonstrator and as a training platform. Yang's additional comments make clear that Chinese leaders and planners intend to use the future carrier fleet to help establish a Pax Sinica in the western Pacific. Nevertheless, the Chinese are far behind India and the US Navy in developing a carrier-based air wing. The US took over 75 years to perfect carrier-based air warfare. The Indians have had more than half a century of experience with aircraft carriers in the fleet and have fought their carrier task groups in combat against Pakistan. At this point, the Chinese naval force has a new flag ship, but not a new naval capability. Following the US model for becoming a super power, however, the Chinese appear determined to develop more advanced aircraft carriers as the ultimate symbols of China's future great power stature. Afghanistan: Reports from Afghanistan indicate US forces have adopted a bunker mentality and are essentially hostages in Kabul and a few other key towns. The Afghan Taliban on Tuesday dismissed NATO figures that show a decrease in insurgent attacks, saying the statistics reflect troop withdrawals and a 'cowardly' avoidance of contact. NATO's latest official figures show attacks on its forces dropped by five percent in the first eight months of this year, but are still running at about 100 a day. Comment: Hanging a violence trend on a statistically calculated five percent drop in attacks is risible. Defects in the reporting channels make the margin of error more than five percent, even when the reporting system is working well. The key data point is 100 attacks per day, admitted by the NATO command. That is a bench mark for measuring an increase in Taliban activity following the departure of US surge forces and the consolidation of residual forces next year. One hundred attacks per day is a high number of attacks for a tribal- and clan-based society to sustain. Three hundred per day was normal at the height of the Iraq insurgency in 2005 and 2006. NightWatch suspects it represents a new high in the sustained level of daily attacks, but promises to research this hypothesis in greater depth. Spain: In Madrid, thousands of protestors enraged by austerity policies, cutbacks and tax hikes clashed with police near Parliament. More than 1,000 riot police blocked off access to the Parliament building in the heart of Madrid, forcing most protesters to crowd nearby avenues and shutting down traffic at the height of the evening rush hour. Police fired rubber bullets and beat protesters with truncheons, first as protesters were trying to tear down barriers and later to clear the square. The police said at least 22 people had been arrested and at least 32 injured, including four policemen. Comment: The clashes are a sign that the stress in daily life has become almost unbearable for a portion of the population. They mean that some workers have concluded that no amount of extra labor soon will be sufficient to support a family and make ends meet. That is the flashpoint for public demonstrations in defiance of civil order. The resumption of clashes in Spain over austerity measures is particularly worrisome because economic integration and cell phone technology facilitate the spread of anti-austerity sentiment and the organization of protest movements in other Euro zone states. This is the nightmare scenario in which economic hardship transmutes into civil disorder and then political instability. Europe has not experienced much of this all year to day, as yet, somewhat surprisingly in light of the severity of austerity measures ordered in many countries. The period of calm apparently is ending as authorities begin to enforce measures that were ordered earlier. End of NightWatch for 25 September.
