I am in favor of the death penalty, but I am AGAINST the execution of an innocent man, and from what I am familiar with this case, Marcellus Williams is innocent. Please sign this petition. Thank you.
Marshall — Marcellus Williams was supposed to die one year ago this week. But hours before he was set to be executed by the state of Missouri, the state's governor postponed the process amidst major questions over whether officials were executing an innocent man. Marcellus was convicted in 1998 for the murder of a St. Louis resident. But he never confessed to the crime, footprints at the crime scene did not match his, and after a court-ordered DNA test of forensic evidence, no DNA evidence found at the scene of the crime matched Marcellus. Hundreds of thousands of people have signed our petition demanding that the state of Missouri completely stop the execution of Marcellus Williams. While we were thrilled one year ago that the governor postponed it, Marcellus could still be executed by the state. That's why we need your help. Missouri Governor Mike Parson has the power to grant Marcellus a commutation that can stop his planned execution. With no DNA evidence, no confession, and no physical evidence placing Marcellus at the scene of the crime, it's time to ask Gov. Mike Parson to issue this commutation and make sure Missouri doesn't kill an innocent man. Please take a moment and join more than 270,000 people around the country asking Missouri Gov. Mike Parson to commute Marcellus' death sentence. We can all help make sure Missouri doesn't execute someone who could be innocent.
