I've got great news for religious liberty I wanted to share with you right away.
New York, one of the most radical states in our country, has finally lifted its oppressive COVID-19 vaccine mandate that has been discriminating against religious healthcare workers for years.
And the Thomas More Society played an important role in this mandate being lifted.
Let me step back and explain…
Nearly two years ago, we filed a critical lawsuit against the State of New York because their radical mandate permitted no accommodations for those with religious objections to the vaccine.
The doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers we represented in this case were faced with the difficult choice of violating their sincerely held religious beliefs by taking the COVID-19 vaccine or losing their careers and their livelihoods.
Even after the Biden administration had ended its own vaccine mandate, New York persisted in running roughshod over its own healthcare workers' freedom of conscience.
The mandate lift follows our demand letter to the New York Attorney General's Office just last week requesting that New York imminently rescind the ruling.
For two years, we've fought tooth and nail for our clients' rights by providing New York strong legal and factual arguments on the unconstitutionality of this mandate.
Now that this conscience-violating mandate has been lifted, the religious liberty of every healthcare worker in New York has been restored. And they may seek possible reinstatement and choose for themselves whether or not to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
You know that at the Thomas More Society we're committed to defending religious liberty at every turn.
With your support, I have faith that we can continue to win critical victories for life, family, and freedom!
Gratefully,
