Roommate reported returning to shared apartment on December 30, 2023 after a holiday visit. (Where did she go? Who did she see?) After knocking on Miss Morgan's door (presumably bed room), roommate did not get a response. The roommate stated she noticed a strong odor coming from her room.(This indicates the body was in Stage 3 of decomposition, called the 'Decay' stage, which typically lasts 5-11 days. It is in this stage that the body is most likely to produce foul odors. Stage 4 of decomposition (post-decay, 10-24 days) sees a reduction of the gases, and thus a reduction of the smell.) Presumably, at this point she called 911 to report the incident. Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office reported Morgan to have died of "natural causes" with no foul play suspected.(The roommate reporting Miss Morgan's death specifically stated last seeing her alive 11 days prior and noticed a strong odor coming from her room. That the roommate used the time, 11 days, is telling. It suggests that the roommate had knowledge of human decomposition, or she knew someone that did. This means that most of Miss Morgan's flesh had already decayed, making a determination of "natural causes" impossible. The only way it would have been possible is if the coroner knew exactly where to look; however, this would make the case a homicide, which PBCSO is trying not to say. Although not concrete, due to the fact that the advanced decay of Miss Morgan's body, it does lead in the direction that Miss Morgan's murderer had help from the Palm Beach County Coroner regarding not only what to say, but when to commit the murder. Regardless of whether or not the coroner was involved, one thing is certain: Cindy Morgan was murdered.)
