Keep in mind that the Hebrew word for priest is Cahn. Consider the following quote from The Two Babylons, by Alexander Hislop, page 232: "And it was a principle of the Mosaic law, a principle no doubt derived from the patriarchal faith, that the priest must partake of whatever was offered as a sin-offering (Numbers xviii. 9, 10).
