Much discussion and controversy has been made over the years regarding the use of vaccinations, their required usage in the area of school admittance, and their potential side effects. One such drug in question is Merck's MMR II (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine. Following is a list of side effects taken from Merck's own website. I will provide explanations for what some of the sicknesses caused by it are:
Panniculitis: a group of diseases whose hallmark is inflammation of subcutaneous adipose tissue (the fatty layer under the skin - panniculus adiposus). Symptoms include tender skin nodules, and systemic signs such as weight loss and fatigue. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panniculitis
atypical measles (syndrome): An altered expression of measles, AMS begins suddenly with high fever, headache, cough, and abdominal pain. The rash may appear 1 to 2 days later, often beginning on the limbs. Swelling (edema) of the hands and feet may occur. Pneumonia is common and may persist for 3 months or more. syncope: a transient, self-limited loss of consciousness with an inability to maintain postural tone that is followed by spontaneous recovery. This definition excludes seizures, coma, shock, or other states of altered consciousness.
