Israel Betrayed 2014 Update

by Professor J
Genesis 12:3 – "And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you."
2014 has been a banner year for rampant betrayal of the Israeli people and for tossing Israel under the bus, a process that started several years ago with the United Nations General Assembly resolution upgrading Palestine to "Non-Member Observer State"
Israel Under The Bus – 2012 to 2013
Non-member status was granted on Thursday, November 29th of 2012.  By September 27th of 2013, 134 nations had recognized the "State of Palestine".   In December the Obama Administration (OBAD) mamzerim [מַמְזֵר - H4464] betrayed the people of Israel by releasing Mojtaba Atarodi and others to aid Iran in its efforts to increase their nuclear capabilities.
Israel Under The Bus – 2014
Zechariah 12:2-3 – "Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah.  It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured."
2014 saw several more nations taking the same stance and recognizing the "State of Palestine".   Ireland and Cyprus have upgraded Palestinian representation in Dublin to full embassy status in recent years joining other European countries such as Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia.  The nations are that have recently done so are:
Britain
The British Parliament, in a 274 to 12 vote on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, has granted diplomatic recognition to the "State of Palestine".  Although the vote is not binding upon the British Government, it clearly indicates that the tide of opinion is turning against Israel.
Ireland
On Wednesday, October 22, 2014, Ireland lawmakers adopted a motion calling on its government to recognize the "State of Palestine".  The motion passed with 339 lawmakers voting for the motion and with 151 against.
Sweden
On October 30, 2014, Sweden's new Prime Minister Stefan Loefven said that his country would become the first western European nation to recognize the "State of Palestine".  Upon this declaration, the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced it would be "recalling its ambassador to Sweden for 'consultation'."  Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom applauded this declaration and declared: "We hope that this will show the way for others," and added that Sweden's government now: "considers that international law criteria for recognition of a Palestinian state have been fulfilled."
Spain
On Wednesday, November 19, 2014, Spanish legislators adopted a motion calling on its government to recognize the "State of Palestine".  The motion passed with 319 in favor, 2 opposed, and 1 abstention just hours after the massacre at the Bnei Torah Kehillat Yaakov synagogue in Jerusalem's Har Nof neighborhood.
France
On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, French lawmakers adopted a motion calling on its government to recognize the "State of Palestine".  The motion passed with 339 lawmakers voting for the motion and with 151 against.
Others
As of December 3, 2014, Belgian legislators from the ruling coalition are working on a non-binding resolution to recognize the "State of Palestine", adding to the groundswell of support within the European Union.  The United States, in particular, its POTUS, has threatened Israel that "the US may opt not to oppose future hostile UN Security Council votes, unless Israel accedes to American policy demands."  Its POTUS, even while condemning Palestinian terrorist actions, has through the State Department restated his rejection of Jewish property rights in Jerusalem and its desire to see the homes of terrorist murderers left intact for the welfare of their terror-supporting families.
Objections To These Recognitions
Objections to actions that recognize the "State of Palestine" are occasionally made by various people.  Caroline Glick frequently comments about these matters.
The French vote caused quite a stir.  France's Member of Parliament, Meir Habib urged Paris to reconsider France's vote noting that it not only violates the Oslo Accords but also legitimizes the PLO and Hamas as political powers.  Serge Cwajgenbaum, Ron Agam, the Israeli Embassy in Paris, and the American Jewish Committee all condemned the vote.
Ron Prosser, Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations recently addressed the General Assembly with one of the most brilliant rebuttals to recognizing the "State of Palestine" date, stating that: "Truth will be turned on its head and morality cast aside. The fact of the matter is that when members of the international community speak about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a fog descends to cloud all logic and moral clarity."  I highly recommend reading his comments in full: Full Ron Prosser Commentary to the UNGA.
Conclusions
At every step, the European Union, the United Nations, the OBAD Administration, and many other nations of the world  applaud recognition of  the "State of Palestine".  At the same time, however, they unleash automatic and libelous condemnation for every step Israeli leaders take to defend the country and protect the rights of Israeli citizens.
Final Thought
Prophecy continues to unfold as foretold by the Hebrew Prophets.  Today we are one day closer to the return of Yeshua than we were yesterday and tomorrow we will be even one day closer.  For almost two thousand years the Jews would proclaim "Next year in Jerusalem!"  I now proclaim "Next Yom Teruah in the clouds!"  Time is short – get busy reaching the lost.
