Fw: Tisha b'Av and You.

I do not buy nor sell anything on this blog.  However, I am in favor of remembering the past, especially since we in America are encouraged to forget our past and embrace a godless, mechanistic future in which only the present matters except to them in power who embrace the past long enough to figure out how to put down any opposition.

Please read this letter addressed to me and learn what you can.  If you then feel like contributing to their cause, then do so.  All people should know where they came from, including the unpleasant parts.  This can help us avoid the bad decisions our ancestors made and make a better life for ourselves and our descendants.

Dear Marshall,

The fact you're reading this email shows that you know why we mourn on Tisha b'Av. To some extent, you feel the pain of the loss of the Temple and the closeness to the Almighty.

But the fact is the overwhelming majority of Jews have no understanding of Tisha b'Av, nor feel any loss.

That is a true tragedy.

But together we can make this the last Tisha b'Av in tears. Join Aish.com and help us reach every Jew around the world with Torah wisdom.

You can be part of that effort by donating generously today to our Tisha b'Av campaign enabling us to create relevant and inspiring Jewish content that is changing peoples lives.

As a dedicated Aish.com reader, you know that our ever-expanding website gives millions of people each year the chance to explore their rich heritage through inspiring Jewish articles, videos, and blogs.

Every donation today makes a huge difference.

Thousands of years ago, Isaiah the Jewish prophet, presumably from the area where the Jerusalem headquarters of Aish HaTorah stands today, told the Jewish people, "Zion will be redeemed with judgment and those that return through tzedakah (charity)."

You can help fulfill that prophecy by making sure every Jew has a chance to connect with Israel and the Jewish people.

Thanks in advance for your generosity.

Together we can make this the last Tisha B'Av in tears.
