Fw: Marshall, this moment changed us…

She didn't want to let go, and neither did we.

Don't Let Go

We offered Asya a comforting hand
Shalom,

I sent an email with Asya's full story this morning and I wanted to make sure you saw it….because meeting Asya was truly special.

It breaks my heart that after surviving the Holocaust, surviving the loss of her mother, and surviving starvation, Asya now suffers from crippling poverty and agonizing loneliness.

That's why it was so hard to leave her after our visit, knowing she would be all alone until her Fellowship-provided homecare worker Natasha came back the next day to bring her meals and share compassion and care on your behalf.

As we sadly said goodbye, we held Asya's hands, trying to offer her comfort. She clenched them so tightly, pulling us near, trying so desperately through her failing eyesight to see our faces.

She didn't want to let go, and neither did we.

In that moment, we knew we were standing on HALLOWED GROUND. And we felt you right there beside us. Because when you give to people like Asya, you are doing God's holy work.

I can't even bear to think of what would happen to Asya without your faithful support of The Fellowship. When you give, you are obeying God's call to be "a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress" (Isaiah 25:4).

Your year-end gift today will help someone just like Asya tomorrow by providing them with food, medicine, shelter, and loving companionship. Will you give them this precious gift before the year is done?
With blessings from the Holy Land,
