Dear Marshall, As you may have heard, there was a brutal attack by radical Islamists in Paris today on a French newspaper that has published cartoons perceived to have been insulting to the Muslim prophet Mohammed. Twelve were murdered, including the editor of the newspaper and two policemen. As of this writing, the attackers are still at large and the entire nation of France – which has already been experiencing an alarming rise in anti-Semitism – is on high alert. Meanwhile, Israel is bracing for what could prove to be a devastating winter storm. At a time like this, it is Israel's most vulnerable citizens – the needy and elderly – who are in the most danger. Already, there are reports that thousands have lost power to their homes. The Fellowship is on the ground and poised to provide assistance in the form of blankets, winter heat, food, and other vital assistance to those who need it most. Today we ask you to pray – for the loved ones of those killed in the cowardly attacks in France, and that the attackers will be captured and swiftly brought to justice. And pray, too, for peace and safety for the people of Israel, who will have no one else to turn to for help in the event that the winter storm proves to be as bad as the predictions. Thank you, friends, for showing your love for the Jewish people in the form of support and prayer.
