Perseis is of Egyptian origin. It comes from the word per, meaning house, or estate(2), i.e. land; seis, an altered form of Sais(3), a city in ancient Egypt; Perseis means "of the house of Sais"; Sais is a shortened form of the word Osiris, which is a variation of the word Mizraim. Misraim/Mizraim is the original name for Egypt(4), and is a son of Ham(5), the son of Noah; Mizraim is buried, or entombed, there by a lake. Perseis was born in Sais, which is how she got her name.
