WILSON, N.C. -- (WorthyNews) Two of the suspects in the case of the I-95 gold heist in North Carolina may have already been found: They are Wilson County Sheriff's deputies investigating it.
Below is a sketch of two of the three suspects given to police by the drivers of the truck.
Here is a photograph of Wilson County Sheriff's Deputies taken the day after the robbery.
Upon magnification of the photo, you will see that the two deputies on the right (a third in camouflage pants is hidden behind the deputy on the far right) fit the description of the suspects in the police sketch. While it is noted that they are different, this can be explained by an intentional skewing of the description so as to throw off persons investigating the case. In this case, hair was added to the bald, white officer and a hoodie and a goatee added to the taller, black officer.
Interestingly, according to the drivers of the 18-wheeler/armored car (descriptions of the vehicle vary greatly), the assailants identified themselves as police officers! What a convenience to be investigating your own crime.
It may be necessary for Transvalue Inc. to find themselves some new people to investigate the heist as the ones doing it now appear to have helped commit the crime.
UPDATE: It appears that the black sheriff's deputy is not the man identified by drivers as one of the robbery suspects. The police artist's sketch of one of the assailants more closely resembles Sheriff Calvin Woodard himself! Below is a photograph of Sheriff Woodard:
Now compare the two side-by-side:
As you can see, things are heating up very quickly!
